Drawing The Line

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

OK, so the line that shouldn’t have been crossed with these ’80’s songs in commercials has been crossed and now heads must roll. You do not - I repeat - DO NOT put New Order in your shoe commercial as Payless Shoe did with New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle.” I just saw this crap on TV and that is NOT OK. Bring me ad agency director head on a stick! 30-somethings… unite!

Driving Me… Um… What’s The Word…?

Thursday, September 22nd, 2005

I live with this cat that has this thing in the morning about wanting to be close to me. I get out of bed and he’s there, ready to rub himself against my leg. I walk elsewhere and he follows. I can’t shake him, try as I might. He’s always coming at me. Being somewhat of a dork, the situation reminded me of playing Berzerk back in the day except it’s a cat and not a deathsquad robot. Oh, and the walls of the house are not coursing with 40,000 volts of electricity.

Pedal Faster!

Thursday, September 22nd, 2005

Why is it that when I see boys on their BMX bikes, they’re always pedaling like Gargantua, creature of the deep, is on their trail and they’re the only hope for saving the town and they must pedal pedal pedal faster to the junk yard and hide in a rusted out Oldsmobile. Slow down boy! Ain’t no crisis here! It’s 7 in the morning and it’s Maine.

Minorthird’s Copycat Monday Quarter-in-the-Jukebox but it’s Tuesday!

This week’s lineup kicks ultra ass. Like, if you took your ass and combined it with my ass and maybe the ass of that woman in front of you at the grocery market earlier this evening and you combine those three asses into one ultra ass, this week’s lineup kicks that much ass and more. I just want you to know that going in.

Okkervil River - For Real
And I don’t want to hear you say it shouldn’t really be this way, because I like this way just fine.

Brazilian Girls - Don’t Stop

Hard-Fi - Cash Machine
Better believe it, I’m working for the cash machine.

Gentleman Reg - Give Me The Chance To Fall

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - It’s Nasty (Genius Of Love)
Like dy-na-mite before it blows
Who needs a band when the beat just goes — boom!
